A little bit of history behind the investment.
Works related to the construction of the Adamów power plant began in September 1960 and were completed in March 1967. In February 1962, excavations for the main building of the power plant began, and the synchronization of the first turbine set took place in October 1964. The fifth and last turbine set was launched in September 1966. It was the shortest cycle of construction of a power plant in Poland with a block of over 100 MW at that time. In 1989, employment in the power plant was increased to 1352 people, including 137 women. At the beginning of 2018, the liquidation of the Adamów power plant began. It was caused by high costs of adjusting to the emission standards with the simultaneous depletion of coal deposits. The last operating block of the power plant was shut down on January 1, 2018 at 2.49.
